By using this website, our newsletter, or the Spooky Nights Circle membership, you agree to these terms.
1. Entertainment only
Spooky Nights publishes Halloween, folklore and supernatural stories, rituals and art for entertainment purposes only. The stories are fiction or folklore retellings unless we clearly say otherwise. Nothing we publish, including any sigil, charm, ritual, reading or “intention” exercise, is promised or meant to produce supernatural, financial, health, relationship or other real-world results. Nothing here is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
Intention Sigils: For entertainment purposes only. No supernatural results are promised or implied.
2. AI-created content
Some of our stories, images, voices and videos are created or assisted with artificial intelligence tools. Any people, places or “found footage” shown are not real unless we clearly say otherwise.
3. Who can use Spooky Nights
You must be at least 18 to join the membership. Some content is scary and not suitable for children.
4. Free newsletter
Our free newsletter is delivered through Substack. You can unsubscribe any time with the link in each email.
5. Spooky Nights Circle membership (paid)
Applies once paid membership opens
(This section takes effect when paid membership opens.)
- Price and billing: membership is $9 per month or $79 per year. Your card is charged through Stripe when you join, then automatically every month (monthly plan) or every year (annual plan) at the then-current price until you cancel. We’ll show the price, billing frequency and renewal terms before you pay, and you’ll check a box to agree to them.
- Founding price: founding members pay $59.25 for their first year of the annual plan. After the first year, the membership renews automatically at the regular annual price ($79 per year, or the then-current price after notice under the next bullet) unless you cancel before renewal. We’ll email you a reminder before that first renewal.
- Price changes: we’ll email you at least 30 days before any price change takes effect for you, and you can cancel before then.
- Cancelling: you can cancel online any time using the “Manage membership” link in any receipt email, or by emailing spookynightscircle@gmail.com. Cancelling stops future charges. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Refunds: if you’re not happy, email spookynightscircle@gmail.com within 7 days of your first payment for a full refund. The same applies to an annual renewal charge: email us within 7 days of the renewal and we’ll refund it in full. Monthly renewals aren’t refunded, but you can cancel any time to stop the next charge. Refunds go back to your original card, usually within 5–10 business days. Nothing here limits any refund right the law gives you.
- Receipts: we’ll email a receipt for each charge that includes how to cancel.
6. Member conduct
In member spaces, don’t post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit involving anyone under 18, or that violates someone else’s rights or privacy. We may remove content or end a membership that breaks these rules, and refund any unused prepaid time.
7. Our content
All stories, art, audio, video and other content on Spooky Nights belong to us or our licensors. Members may use content for personal enjoyment only. Don’t copy, resell, or repost it without written permission.
8. Your content
If you post comments, stories or art in member spaces, you keep ownership. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it within Spooky Nights and to feature it in our posts with credit to your username. Don’t post anything you don’t have the right to share.
9. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on Spooky Nights infringes your copyright, email spookynightscircle@gmail.com with the work, where it appears, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn’t authorized. We’ll review it and remove infringing material.
10. Third-party services
Substack, Stripe, YouTube and X are run by other companies under their own terms. We aren’t responsible for their services.
11. Disclaimers and limits
Spooky Nights is provided “as is.” To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some states don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new effective date and email members about material changes. Continuing to use Spooky Nights after a change means you accept it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
